Catching Up

I must apologize at how boring this blog has become. I just have not been myself with all of this nonsense I've been going through. I went back to the doctor on Thursday and she upped the Paxil to 25 mg because, though it seems to be working for most of the day, at night I was still getting some anxiety. The 25 mg seems to be helping with that now. The Nexium doesn't seem to be doing anything for my stomach and the testing she did came back negative for an infection. Now I need to see a Gastroenterologist, which of course I can't see for another 2 1/2 weeks. I'm still not sleeping, even after trying Ambien AND Lunesta. I must be the only person in the world who can't even sleep with sleeping pills! I'm exhausted and barely getting through the day. I'm usually in bed by 7 pm. I've lost 8 pounds, which is a definite plus to all of this, though not the way I want to go about losing weight. So, that's that, guess I'll have to wait to see what's up when I go to the other doctor. Okay, enough whining.

We all went to the Ringling Bros. Circus on Saturday. It was so much fun. The boys loved all of the animal acts the best. That man who does the Tiger act is completely out of his mind! He must be because how does anyone get into a cage with 10 Tigers that are growling and swiping at you and all you have is a whip? I was freaking out! And can you tell me? How does a little girl sleep through half of the Circus? There are people being shot out of cannons and R. was snoring in Mr. Schmitty's lap. It was so nice to get out and about. We had a great day together.

Oh what fun!

We used to go to the Shrine Circus every year when I was little.

I can't wait to take our son...but, my hubby is afraid of clowns...so, it looks like it will be just the 2 of us (me & my son)!

Um...I'm afraid of clowns too. I think it was George Carlin who said that the scariest thing in the world is to hear someone knocking on your door at 2 a.m. and open it to find a clown standing there....

I hope sleep finds you soon.

The circus...that sounds like so much fun.

I can't sleep on sleeping pills either. I have to take Zyprexa (which is an antipsychotic, you can imagine how I reacted after finding that out), I take an extremely low dose 1 time a week, and it seems to carry over to each night, without making me sleepy in the day.

At the risk of sounding nosy, and you can blow me off without hurting my feelings- are you seeing a psychiatrist or a general practitioner?

I wish I could help you!

So Sorry you are going through this. Part of the non sleeping can be you believing you won't sleep at night, since you haven't.

I found for me that meditation helps me fall asleep when I am too anxious. I make my room a cave, without my husband, he can come to bed later. I have a cool soothing eye patch and I close my eyes and instead of thinking about my day I force my self to have happy day dreams about hiking or, walking the beach, I try and make myself feel it, smell it, taste it...

It clears the mind and soon I am asleep. I am not saying this WILL work for you, but I am saying hey why not try it, what have you got to loose except another night of not sleeping! Good luck!

I loved the circus when I was a kid. Maybe I will take the kids this year.
