Google Reader Is Killing Me!

I love reading blogs. I love commenting on blogs. I have 128 subscriptions in my reader. That's a lot of blogs. And those are my favorites. I just deleted a poop-load recently, too. I didn't want to, but my list was getting completely out of control. I think I broke up with about 128 other blogs.

It tore me up. I'm so sorry, it was me, not you. Really, you were great. You can do so much better than me. You deserve more. I hope we can still be friends.

Though I dumped kicked to the curb deleted these beautiful souls from my life, I still can't seem to keep up with the daily posts. Every time I go to my reader, I have tons of updates. TONS!

And just imagine my horror if I miss a day, because I actually have a life outside of the Internet, with big girl responsibilities and stuff. Stuff, you know, like those three little terrors, I call my love-a-loves. Oh yea, and my husband.

As of late, I've had a lot of balls in the air. I'm trying not to drop any. Reading blogs has had to take a back seat. If I've missed some days, and my reader is full, oh boy, I hate to admit this, but I've taken to [shudder] browsing the list, reading only the ones with a title that catches my eye, and [gulp] clicking on "mark all as read".

PLEASE DON'T HATE ME!!!!

I seriously LOVE you all and I hate myself for not being more active, in this very important to me, blogging community. I promise I will try harder.

Maybe you can slow down on your posting? That would help.

kthnxbai.

Yeah...I know how you feel. I hate that. I used to have that many blogs, but I cut down to about 20. It's hard to keep up. It stops you from writing because you're too busy reading!

I feel deleted, just kidding :-)

Dude, I'm doing my part. I only post 2-3 times a week. You want me to cut back MORE?

And, my reader used to NEVER have more than 100 unread items. Now I'm lucky to have it under 500. Gah. I just checked and I have TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FOUR subscriptions. I need to weed some of those out!

Just unsubscribed to the ones I usually skip and I'm down to 228. It's a sickness. I just can't help it. I'm addicted to blogs.

I only have 167 in Reader, and a few more in Favorites because they can't Read. Heh heh.

Yep, I read the highlights, mark 'em and move on. Two word comments help. Oops, exceeded the two-word limit! Gotta go!

Sometimes those numbers can get so overwhelming.
I know how you feel.

Has the bird always been pooping on your hubby's head, or am I just really unobservant?

I feel your pain : ) In fact, this may be the only comment I actually wrote this week.

Well, I love to read blogs and sometimes I comment but agree ... who has time! I have maybe five that I follow all the time and comment and a few more that I read a lot and I can not be truly committed to even these -- so you are doing great!!!

I guess we all do what we can BUT I for one just do not have time!

Just do what you can - and keep sane! I have a love-hate relationship with google reader!!!!

The trick is to keep enjoying and loving this crazy addiction!

Cheers!

I understand! Right now I have a ton of posts to get through and no time to do it in. Mark as Read is my favortie button. Does that make me mean??

I feel your pain. I have felt so overwhemled lately as to visiting everyone. And I want to. I do....but there arent enough hours in the day. I read, I do read, but now I just limit my comments. To save the marriage.

Did you delete me? You probably deleted me, right? Because I'm in the same boat. My reader is about to burst. If it can. Can it do that? If it could, I'm sure my is close to the limit. And I haven't been commenting so much.

I understand. It takes me 5-6 hours A DAY to make ALL of my blog rounds. Good thing I dont have a job anymore so I CAN spend all the time I want writing, reading, blogging & commenting!

I'm right there with you. A rader is a blessing and a curse at the same time. There's nothing worse than taking a mental health day from the internet, only to find eleventy hundred blog posts waiting for you in you Reader. Who needs that kind of pressure? No worries. We still love you!!

I just purged over 100 myself. I hated to do it but things were getting out of control! Now that I've done it I see how nice it is to not have that bloated reader hanging over my head all the time. Blog reading shouldn't be a chore but it sure does have a way of turning into one!

Not being on your big list or your newly-purged list, I somehow feel very, very small. (Picture big elephant tears).

Don't worry. My blog is dry. I got nuthin'.

You just summed up my ordeal! LOL!

I have 1800 NEW POSTS to read in my bloglines. Not happening. I'm going through the list in alpha-order, reading one or two new posts and marking the other 60 as READ! I can't do it all!

LOL!

Don't feel bad. We all juggle those balls every day.

Just do what I do; delete all of the posts and start over again. It's so refreshing :) The guilt only lasts a second.
