Connecticut Hit and Run

I woke up this morning and like every morning, I went to my computer. I opened my browser and logged on to aol to check my email. I noticed a news article on aol's main page. I clicked on it and saw one of the most disgusting videos I've ever seen.

I am absolutely sickened by it and even more so, I am appalled at the behavior of those involved.

What in God's name is wrong with people today?! Please take a look for yourself. I must warn you ~ it is extremely upsetting.

Click HERE to read the article.

Comments were left on this post. Some were as shocked as I was. Some made excuses for why nothing was done. Some blamed law enforcement. Some couldn't blame the bystanders because they would have done the same thing to avoid being sued.

WTF?!

No excuse in the world can justify ignoring a HUMAN BEING like that!

I've just lost a little more faith in the world.

There is no excuse for just standing there watching. The idiot on the motorcycle turned around to get a good look before driving away. Just sick. I wanted to help so bad. I was afraid someone else would run him over again. I can't believe people.

Can compassion get you sued?

I saw this on the news this morning. It made me sick to my stomach. That poor man is now paralyzed from the neck down and in critical condition. I am so disgusted by the way no one helped him. DISGRACEFUL!

I cannot believe that someone didn't help that poor man. I lose more faith in humanity every single day.

God. I just sat there silently screaming in my seat. I kept watching the oncoming cars and begging them in my head NOT to hit him again and then begging them to JUST STOP FOR CHRIST SAKES.

And the way the car that hit him SPED UP!!!

I am not kidding. I feel sick to my stomach.

I agree. WTF! The SUV that saw it all happen pulled over and then drove away! The pedestrians did nothing! It's not one person, not two, it's many, many people who chose to ignore that there was an injured man in the street. I'm stunned. I'm horrified, absolutely horrified!

This makes me sick. I don't understand people at all. I know with 100% certainty that I would have done something even if it was just to go into the road to keep anyone else from hitting him or tohold his hand until police got there. I don't think I'm some amazing, extrordinary human being but I do have an ounce of compassion in me. Why aren't there more people in the word who would do something, anything? This is just so sad.

It's terrible, but honestly those people may have been in shock. Until you've been in that position you don't know how you'd react. I'd like to think I'd rush out and hold his hand in the street but I just don't know to be honest...

I saw this on CNN yesterday, but not as much of it as here. It's awful. Just awful. How could those people just keep walking? (Or driving)
