Bullets

Hi everyone. I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted. I am a complete nut this time of year and can't seem to get a grip at all.

So to catch up, I am going to throw out some random thoughts from the jumbled mess in my brain.

*I hope everyone had a GREAT Turkey Day yesterday. I stuffed myself fatter than the bird!

*I hope you crazy people that woke up at the butt crack of dawn today got some great bargains. I was under the covers, snuggling with my little one, T., who had crawled in after a nightmare.

*I am SO.FAR.BEHIND in everything. I usually have most of my Christmas shopping done by now. I've purchased two gifts. TWO!

*The kids wrote their lists for Santa. I think my son W. needs a reality check. I'm not sure if he seriously thinks he'll get EVERYTHING on his list or he figured he'd list as many things as he could think of with the HOPES of getting something. A Wii, a PSP, Guitar Hero, Playstation 3. Are you seeing a pattern? Considering we already own Playstation 2 and Xbox, plus numerous Gameboys, the boy is truly out of his freaking gourd delusional.

*R. wants that Baby Alive that pees. I just got her out of diapers. Maybe that's why she has been having accidents this week, it's that darned commercial and she thinks it's funny!

*I usually have my Christmas card photo taken and the cards purchased and almost addressed by now. I am known for having very creative cards. People tell me they can't wait to see what I've come up with every year. I've got a lot to live up to people! So much pressure. And yet, this year, I got nothing. Nada, Zilch.

*I am sick. Or maybe it's allergies, considering most of the trees still have leaves on them. And many are still green. December is next week, no wonder I am hacking up a lung every night.

*I haven't slept much in 4 days. Did I mention I was sick? The coughing is making me feel like I have a concussion. The constant convulsions are tossing my brain around inside my noggin.

*I'm taking W. to see Disney On Ice: High School Musical tonight with my SIL, BFF, and their kids. That should do wonders for my pounding head. But Disney On Ice is a family tradition. We've gone every year, the day after Thanksgiving, for the past 5 years.

*I added some new stationery to my Doodle Kids® line. They are Invitations, Thank You Notes, and Address Labels in kid's party themes.

*FYI - The notes and notepads at Doodle Kids® make great teacher gifts, etc. for the holidays! (Sorry for the shameless plug!)

*I just sent out invitations for T.'s, 5th Birthday. We booked The Lizard Guys!

*Speaking of Christmas, I think I am hosting both Christmas Eve AND Christmas at my house this year. There will be about 15 people on Christmas Eve and 12 on Christmas. I'm going to be a wreck.

*Christmas dinner, I keep easy. I think this year will be Sausage, Potatoes, Onions, and Peppers. A ham, rice, mashed potatoes, etc.

*Christmas Eve needs to be fish. You know, the Italian thing. I'm Irish and Swedish, I'm not so good at this. Does anyone have any easy, tasty fish recipes for a crowd?

*I have to start my Christmas cookies too. I make sooooooo many cookies. Really, like 85 dozen, I'm not lying. This year I'll make Kiss Cookies, Peppar Kakor (Swedish Spice Cookies), Snickerdoodles, Spritz Cookies, and maybe Angel Whispers (Lemony Spritz).

*I just realized I have WAY too much to do....and here I am blogging. Crap, I should go.

We do the whole fish thing at my inlaws every Christmas Eve, too. Italian. My hubby usually does the bakala in the deep fryer. MM.

Antipasto, shrimp and cocktail sauce (that's an easy one to throw on the table, and it goes FAST!...

If I think of any more fast dishes for ya (I'll consult the Hubby), I'll write you again.

XOXO

Whew...I'm tired from just reading about all you have going on!

Hope you felt well for Disney on Ice!

My 5-year-old wants about 20 things out of the Target toy catalog. Uh...Santa's pockets are NOT that deep. ;)

Maybe if I get Baby Alive for Miss A she'll finally get potty trained?

Hope you get caught up on everything. Don't feel bad...I haven't bought ONE PRESENT yet.

Hey girl...I'm with you...it's absolutely crazy!!!!!
I also am so good about Christmas cards and am chomping at the bit to get them in the mail, but this year I had nuthin', too...until yesterday. I saw a card on two peas in a bucket that had a collage of pictures from throughout the year and it said "The Joys of 2007...Wishing you joy this holiday season." I think I may "steal" this idea...can't picture myself trying to get the fam together for a group shot;)

It's been all sorts of crazy here too. I am way behind on my christmas shopping, I haven't started my cards that are usually expected to be creative and my Miss Turtle has only asked for an iPod thinking she will get it although she owns 800 musical devices (I posted about it this morning lol).

I hope you get some time to breath and can enjoy the holidays :D

I'm feeling your pain. It's overwhelming. I'm trying to focus on "one thing at a time" if I look at the big picture I'll have a meltdown.

Holy shit. ALL those people for Christmas? I can't even throw a decent dinner party for four...

Um...let's see....a good fish recipe...how about tuna sandwiches and chips. Throw in some tomato soup. There. You can see why no one asks ME to be the Christmas hostess....

YIKES!! You make my list sounds pathetic :)

Grab some coffee, take 2 aspirin and get to work, girl!

I hear you. I'm sitting amongst boxes blogging and creating a calender. A bit of avoidance on my part, methinks.

you know I seem to remember having that doll and ripping her head off to fill her under the faucet. It was funny when I was 7!

Thanks for the updates...I was wondering what happened to you...

I also ate way too much and SKIPPED out on the insanity that is 'black Friday'.

I hope you feel better soon

you are ahead of me, we had some toys for christmas and gave it to the kids a week after we bought them. Not good I know. As for the moosh brain, I'm there with ya, can't think straight. I end up putting 5 blogs entries in a day because my mind is just racing. Good luck on the bday party!
