This is R.'s self portrait. She made this crayon drawing this morning after she looked in the mirror. Do you notice that one eye is smaller than the other?
This is why:
Didn't she just perfect the realism? This is what happens when my daughter gets bitten by a mosquito. She puffs up. The other day she had a bite on her knee. The knee swelled up twice it's size. We take all of the precautions; bug repellent, citronella pots, we even place those Off citronella bracelets on the kids. The only thing left is to make the kid stay indoors....forever.
Poor kid, she must just be extra sweet and tasty!

poor baby...what a great representation, great artist! Hope she feels better!
oh my GOSH that looks sore!!!Poor girl!! The drawing was quite wonderful..you have a little artist in the making there!!
Does the "Afterbite for kids" stuff work at all? I know we keep that around here in truck fulls in the Summer!
I think mosquitos are more attracted to some people than they are to others. It has something to do with something in your breath I think. (Enjoy my highly science-like explanation!) I think it might be genetic too. My father, my daughter and I could be standing in a crowd of a million people and we would be the three getting bit the most. Maybe your little one's got the same "it" factor that we do?
I lvoe the picture but that eye sure looks sore! Hope she's better soon!
Poor thing :(
OH! poor thing! That looks so incredibly painful! Extra hugs for that little one!
She is a great artist. Our son has the same thing with bee stings, and he has more stings around his eye than anywhere. It is usually at the farm, and he gets drugged with antihistamines and 2 days later he is still swollen (see photo at my husbands blog- http://sirdar.wordpress.com/2007/07/01/canada-day-eve-partya-success/#comments). I think it is time for an epi-pen.
Well, something weird happened there. I would have done a link, but haven't figured out how to do that so I hope that turned out okay.
Awwwwwww....Magnuts does the same thing. His have been so bad that they have turned into cellulitis.
This weekend we found a miracle-Bugpatch. It is nothing but Thaimin B1 and I never thought it would work. Until this week Magnuts had to be hosed down with something LOADED with deet, and even then he still got bitten.
I put the patch on him and did not have to worry about it for 36 hours. It was so nice not to have to keep putting bug spray on him, especially his face.
The only drawback I noticed was that it made me smell like the bottom of a bottle of Flinstone vitamins. I can live with that.
My kids look like that too with mosquitto bites. Honestly - it's like they were attacked by giant hummingbirds instead!!!
Oh well bless her little heart!
Poor darlin'. The same thing happens to Busy Bee. Benadryl, is a little girls BFF, sometimes.
I love how she's replicated it in her drawing. Have you tried lavender essential oil?
I too am a magnet for mosquitos
Poor Baby! I react to the bites pretty bad myself so I sympathise, but what a place to get bitten :(
I saw your comment on OTJ and popped over since your experience with potty training sounds awfully like mine!
